Arson Cafe is an online music publication established in the autumn of 2012, dedicated to the documentation of extreme music in its many forms.
Founded by VJ, a scientist and long-term underground metal enthusiast with a scholarly approach to the scene's history. The blog has grown over more than a decade into a consistent point of reference for reviews, interviews, and essays of critical thinking.
The focus here is on black metal, death metal and grindcore, obscure or not, though coverage is not strictly limited to these. Most content comes in the form of reviews of recent or upcoming releases, with occasional exclusive interviews with artists and longer essays exploring lists and broader themes.
Arson Cafe is the culmination of years of writing experience across different platforms, always guided by the same principles: contextual understanding, honesty, and respect for the art.
